Measure the core and its outer envelope separately.
Thickness note: 2.5 inches is the nominal size designation, not the measured heat-transfer core thickness. The actual core is thinner than 2.5 inches (63.5 mm) and sits inside the wider end-tank / header-plate envelope.
This dimensional distinction also applies across our Tube-and-Fin range: the heat-transfer core is smaller than the surrounding header plates / end tanks. Use the confirmed drawing for the exact core thickness and maximum installation depth of each model.
Do not interpret the 27 × 7 × 2.5″ name as a measured 2.5″-thick core. Request the dimension drawing with your quotation.
